Father's Day

We had a great day celebrating our very favorite Dad!  He is serving, loving, and oh so silly and fun! He is our undefeated wrestling champ (at least for now), the best at building LEGOS, and can't resist a good Dad joke.  Our boys are his best buddies and he wouldn't have it any other way.

We celebrated with his favorite treat, root beer floats.  And he got monster truck tickets for a fun father/son night out.  I'm so grateful for the great example he is for our boys.

Dave's Birthday

We had so much fun celebrating Dave's birthday.  Will planned out the whole day, just for Dad.  First he and Dave went on a bike ride together.  That is one of their very favorite activities to do together.

In the afternoon we went fishing.  Dave enjoys fishing, and the boys absolutely love it too!

Both boys caught a fish.  In fact, the fish were really biting and we had to put a limit on how many they could catch.

Will loved handling the fish.  He is such a curious kid and just wanted to hold them.

All in all, it was a very successful fishing trip.  We ended up catching 17 fish!  After fishing, we headed home to make fish tacos.

We ended the day with some strawberry cheesecake.  Dave is not a big cake guy, so we always do cheesecake for his birthday.  We had a great day celebrating our favorite guy.

Memorial Day

We had so many fun plans scheduled for Memorial Day, but we ended up with the stomach flu and had to cancel everything.  So a week later we had a Memorial Day redo.

We put up the bounce house and got wet!

We also had a water balloon fight, kids again Mom and Dad.

Afterwards, we tried out our new fire pit and roasted hot dogs for dinner.

Of course our night wouldn't be complete with out smores.  Even though it wasn't what we had planned to do, I'm so glad we were able to make some fun memories together.

Will's Preschool Graduation

I can't believe my little guy is a preschool graduate.  When he was born I remember thinking we had such a long time until we had to worry about school, and now here he is ready to go to kindergarten.

He had the best teacher.  She really put 110% into everything she did.  Will grew so much and it was amazing to see how much he learned.

Will's birth mother, Brooke, was able to come to his graduation.  We are so lucky to be able to share these special moments with her.

So proud of my little guy!  Can't wait to see what big things he will do next year!

Wheeler Farm Adoption Play Group

Once a month we have a play date with our Adoption Group.  This is such a great opportunity for Will and Ben to play with other kids who are adopted.  It helps them feel a sense of community and lets them know that they are not alone.  They both love going.

This month we went to Wheeler Farm.  The kids had so much fun seeing all of the animals.

They also got to watch the blacksmith make something.  Later Ben was telling me all about it.

They loved playing in a huge tree that we found.  They climbed around and had such a great time together.

Last but not least, we rode on the cow train.  Of course this was a highlight.  These activities are so important to me.  I want our kids to always have these special opportunities.

HAFB Museum

My Dad recently retired.  He is not one for parties, so instead we got together and visited the Hill Air Force Base Museum.

My sister and her family were not able to make it, but it was fun to have the rest of us together to celebrate!

Ben loved looking at the planes and telling us all the different parts of the plane.  Will got excited about looking inside of the planes to see how they were put together.  Outings like these are so fun, seeing the world through the eyes of a child is so tender.  I love their excitement and enthusiasm for the little things we do.

Dinosaur Land

We went on a little vacation with cousins down to Dinosaur Land.  It was so nice to get away and we had such a good time!

Our first stop was Dinosaur National Monument.  We did some hiking, and also saw the main attraction, a wall of rock completely full of dinosaur bones.  This was one of my favorite things we did.  It was pretty amazing to see so many fossils in one place.

They even had a spot where you could touch one of the dinosaur bones, it was pretty awesome!

I think the highlight of the day for the boys was when Dave caught a lizard for them.  Will was in heaven when Dave let him hold it.  There were lizards all over the place there and the boys had so much fun trying to spot them.

We also went to a Dinosaur Museum.  Snapping this picture was fun for me.  There is a picture of my brother and I standing in front of this exact dinosaur when I was a kid, so it was great to take my boys to see it.

The kiddos loved digging for dinosaur bones and playing with cousins.

We also made a stop at Fantasy Canyon.  It was pretty amazing.  The rock formations were so interesting and different.  It was a great place to explore.

Ben loved playing in the sand and Will was thrilled to be able to have so many places to climb.

We also did a lot of hiking.  There were an incredible amount of petroglyphs to see.

Another of my favorite moments was hiking to see some dinosaur footprints.  They were right next to a beautiful lake and there were so many of them. It was incredible to think that they have lasted so many years.

Although we did so many fun things, the boys say their favorite part was playing in the pool at the hotel ha ha! We certainly made some fun memories, I can't wait for our next adventure!
