Dripping Rock Trail

This weekend we found a new gem close to home, Dripping Rock Trail.  It was perfect for two littles.  The trail was paved and easy and the boys loved playing in the water.  Finding new fun things close to home is the best!

The boys loved splashing around in the water and getting Dad wet.  They never get to splash that big in the bath tub ha ha

They also loved throwing rocks.  They are definitely little boys all the way through.  There were plenty of rocks to choose from and they enjoyed searching around under the water for the perfect rock to throw.

Ben's favorite part was going with Daddy to the "deep" end and splashing around like crazy.  As you can see by the look on his face he loved every second.

We sure love all of our adventures with these two.  They give us a reason to make memories and we enjoy the fun they bring to our family!

Fourth of July 2020

Happy Fourth of July!  I always get the boys patriotic shirts or outfits for the Fourth of July and it is something I look forward to every year.  One of those silly things that makes the day a bit more special.

This year our plans for the Fourth of July fell through last minute (like 9:30 the night before) so we had to improvise.  I ended up making a carnival for the boys in our backyard and it ended up being really fun.  It actually was really nice to spend the day together, just our little family and celebrate and have some fun. Our first game was tossing a ball into a bucket full of water.  Will said this was his favorite game.

Next we went fishing.  Ben was so proud of his catch!  When we put him down for his nap he said his favorite game was catching fish.  It was so sweet to hear that he had enjoyed it so much.

Our next game was the bean bag toss.  Will did so well on this game I had to keep moving him back to make it more difficult.

Our last game was popping balloons to find a piece of paper with the prize they had won written inside.  Both boys were a bit unsure about the loud popping balloons, so I probably wont do that game again.  Oops!

Some of the prizes they won were snaps (pop its) and popsicles.  Even though it was just kind of thrown together it didn't matter to them, they had a great time!

Then in the afternoon we got our our water slide bounce house and played together.

Will and Dave had fun trying to make shots in the basketball hoop that is inside the bounce house. I'm not sure who won but they had fun trying to throw in as many as they could.

After our BBQ and before Will and Ben's bedtime we did fireworks.  It was still quite bright out but the boys loved it anyway.  Will's favorite fireworks were the flowers and Ben's were the parachutes.  We also had snakes and sparklers and more snaps.  It ended up being the perfect day.

The Grotto

Dave had a day off from work, so we took the boys on one of our favorite kid friendly hikes, to The Grotto.  The hike it really short, but there is such a fun waterfall at the end that is the perfect size for our little guys to play in.

It was our first time taking Ben, but he had no reservations.  He loved wandering around and exploring.

Will is our resident outdoor enthusiast.  He loved being outside so much!  He found a cool hole in a tree and wanted to make sure we all saw it, so I snapped a picture for him.

These two sure love each other even though they may not always show it.  Will was so excited to show Ben everything there was to see.  I love watching their little relationship and how much they really do enjoy each other.  I am so grateful they have each other and I love watching them grow and experience life together.

Both boys got a chance to run through the waterfall thanks to Dad.  They got soaking wet and laughed the whole time.  I love our family adventures!

Cabin with the Fam

We took a few days to head up to a cabin in Kamas with my side of the family.  It was so nice to get away for a few days and play and eat way too much ha ha

Our first day there we went on a beautiful hike near Smith and Moorehouse Reservoir.  This was our first time using the hiking backpack with Ben and I wasn't sure what he would think of it (since Will absolutely hated it!) but he loved it.  He could stand up in it and he would tell Dave to "Go!", which meant I want you to run as fast as you can up the trail Dad.

I loved the amazing views, they were breathtaking.  So I had to stop for a minute and capture this one with my favorite four year old.

Will had so much fun with his cousin Aria.  I'm so glad he has a cousin to play with.  They spent the whole hike looking for flowers.

They also loved getting attention from Grandpa. Grandpa is a big tease and they just love it.

My brother brought balloons and made all kinds of fun things for the kids.

I planned a scavenger hunt for the kiddos, and Ben just wanted to hold Grandma's hand the whole time.  We found all kinds of things from feathers to pine cones.  Then each of the kiddos got a stuffed animal when they had found everything on the list.

And it wouldn't be a real outdoor trip without smore's!

We also rented canoes and took them out on the reservoir which was a fun new adventure for Will.  Although I think his favorite part was throwing rocks in the water.

Ben and his cousin Jack had matching jackets so we had to capture that on camera.  So glad my sister has a little guy only a year younger.  Ben and Jack are going to be great friends. We love cousins. I'm so glad we were able to find a time when we could all get together and have a bit of fun.  Family time is our favorite!
