Ice Castles

We went with Dave's twin brother Mike, and his family to play at the Ice Castle in Midway.  The last time Dave and I went, it was before we had kids, so we were definitely due to go again.  It was so fun I think it will have to become a yearly tradition!  We can always use something fun to do in January.

The kids had so much fun with their cousins.  We are so lucky to have cousins so close in age that they can play with.  And I love that their cousins are some of their closest friends.

The boys thought the best part of the Ice Castle was the slide.  Obviously Dave got in to it too ha ha!

Will was so funny.  He wanted to go down the slide as fast as he could, so he would use his hands to speed himself up.  He looked like a little penguin sliding on the ice.  Kids are just the best!

So glad we were able to get out and spend some quality family time together.  My boys are my joy!

New Years Eve

We had a super low key New Years Eve this year.  It was just us, but it was still so much fun!  After getting take out for dinner, we toasted the New Year with some strawberry soda.

Earlier in the day, when Will realized it was a holiday, he decided to make his own pinata.  He is so creative.  He pretty much made the whole thing himself, and then I stuffed it with candy and prizes for him.

After dinner we did Will's pinata, which I think was the most exciting part of the night for both of the boys.  It was fun to see their enthusiasm and joy over such a simple thing.

After breaking the pinata, we played games.  The boys are still pretty young, so rules were only loosely followed ha ha!

After games, we went out and did a few fireworks.  That is always a big hit of course!

We finished off our evening with a bowl of ice cream and we were all in bed on time ha ha!  I think it is going to still be a few years before the boys are old enough to make it to midnight.  Even though it was a very simple evening, I'm grateful we were able to celebrate it together.  There is no one  I would rather be with!
