Work Pool Party

My work threw a summer party for staff and students last week.  We could bring a plus one so of course I brought my handsome man.  Dave likes to come and give my coworkers a hard time.  They all like when he comes because he is so easy to joke with.  It was fun to get to spend time with everyone outside of work.  We had hot dogs and everyone pitched in and brought salads and desserts. We were using the pool at Wolverine Crossing so some of the residents there came and joined our party.  At one point our students and some of the residents were having a dance off.  It was so fun to watch, we have some talented students.

One of our students brought their new puppy.  I was dying.  She was so cute and fluffy I wanted to sneak her in my purse and take her home.  Her legs were so short she could hardly run, it was adorable.  She was so fun to play with.  Maybe someday we will get a puppy...

Our Anniversay-7 Years Together

For our Anniversary this year we went on a picnic up Hobble Creek Canyon at Jolley Ranch.  Our Anniversary landed on a Monday this year so we both took the day off from work to spend time together.  It was a perfect day to go to the park, we were the only ones there.  We stopped at Zubs on the way up and shared a sandwich when we got there.  It was so peaceful, the perfect summer day.  Just like our wedding day it was exceptionally hot.  It was fun to reminisce about our wedding day and what we were doing at that exact moment seven years ago.  I am so glad Dave and I found each other, he is my perfect match in every way.  After going on our picnic we had planned to go to the art museum in Springville.  Unfortunately, when we arrived we discovered that the museum is closed on Mondays.  Who would have though?  So instead Dave took me shopping.  Seriously, he is too good to me.  A girl will never say no to going shopping.

After spending the afternoon shopping we went out to dinner at Magleby's in Springville.  Dave and I discovered Magleby's a few years ago on a New Years Eve.  They had all you can eat crab legs and prime rib, some of Dave's favorites so we were hooked.  It is now one of our favorite places to go.  And while Dave enjoys the all you can eat crab legs I can't leave with out getting a slice of their delicious chocolate cake covered in raspberries and vanilla bean ice cream.  It is so good. It was fantastic to spend the day together.  So glad I get to spend eternity with this guy!

4th of July 2014

For the 4th of July this year we celebrated with Dave's family.  We had a BBQ together and almost everyone was able to come.  It was so fun to get together and to laugh and have fun with each other.  We grilled hamburgers and enjoyed seven layer bean dip (a Jensen family tradition for the 4th).

After enjoying the BBQ we went to Layton City's fireworks.  I have no idea why but I love fighting the crowds and laying out a blanket to watch the fireworks.  It is so fun to have our nieces and nephews around and spend time chatting with family.

Amber's Birthday 2014

For my birthday this year we went to the zoo.  They just opened the Savannah exhibit and I wanted to go see it.  I would have to say my favorite part was the seals and the otters.  They were so playful!

My parents came with us and then took us to lunch after.  So glad they could come.

Here is Dave being silly.

And more of Dave being silly :)

Dave's Birthday 2014

For Dave's birthday this year we went to the new aquarium in Draper.  It was really nice.  They did a great job, I love having things like this not far from home.  When we first got there we went and watched them feed the sharks.  We thought it would be a feeding frenzy but the sharks did not seem too excited.  The sting rays on the other hand were all about stealing their fish.

After the sharks, we watched the penguins get fed.  They are so adorable.  They were swimming like crazy trying to get as many fish as they could.  Then they jumped out of the water so they could be hand fed.  I love their little waddles.

Here is Dave being silly like usual.  He always keeps me laughing.

The Saturday after Dave's birthday we went out to dinner with his Mom and our sister in-law Katie and her kids.  We went to The Pie, it was delicious.  It had been years since we had been there.

Just outside of the restaurant was a wading pool.  Dave was kept very busy trying to keep Aiden from diving in.  He really loves the water.

After playing in the wading pool we went to Katie's house for birthday cake.  Aiden helped Dave blow out the candles.

Camping

Dave's brother Kelly just bought a new trailer and invited us to go camping with them.  This is us in all our camping glory.  Trailer camping is definitely more my thing.  Tents not so much.  We had a great time and love hanging out with Kelly, Katie, and the kids.

Our first morning there Dave got out of bed to start the fire and get breakfast going.  He is fantastic with a dutch oven and always make sure we eat good.  After he left these two cuties snuck in bed with me.

We camped at Payson Lakes.  It is so beautiful up there.  Who knew there was such a great spot not too far from our house.

Michelle's Baby Shower

In May I helped my Mom and Sister throw a baby shower for my sister in-law Michelle.  She is due with her little baby girl in July.  We are all excited for the first baby in the family.

I was in charge of decorating, I wish this picture did not turn out so dark.  Jessie, my sister, was in charge of decorating the cupcakes.  She is amazing.  I wish I would have thought to take a picture of the cupcakes she made.  They had pink frosting with white chocolate tiaras on them  She is quite the baker.

Here I am with my Mom, Michelle, and Jessie.  Love them so much.  So glad I have such a great family.

We also got my camera shy Grandma to take a picture with us.  We were so glad that she could come.  We had so much family there, I love when we can all get together.

Les Mis at Hale Centre Theatre

For Christmas we got Dave's Mom tickets to go see Les Mis at the HCT.  It was so much fun to have a night out with her.  The play was fantastic.  I definitely cried at the end.  After the show we went to dinner at Winger's.  They had a band playing while we were there, we had so much fun.

Valentine's Day 2014

It was my turn to plan Valentine's Day this year.  We went to Cafe Galleria in Midway for some pizza.  It was a long wait but really good.  Then we headed across the street to the ice castle.  Neither Dave nor I had ever been to the ice castle before.  It was cold and drippy but so much fun.  It was amazing how big it was and the way that they built it.  The ice castle was beautiful once it got dark with all of the colored lights they had inside the ice.  While we were waiting in line to get in they had fire breathers and people doing ice sculptures, it was fun to watch.  We will definitely have to go again.

New House

It finally happened!  Our house is finished and we were able to move in.  Dave and I have been looking forward to this for months.  We began building in May and it was finally ready for us in mid January.  Love the french country architecture, it turned out just the way I was hoping.  It is so nice to actually be in a home.  Our neighborhood is fantastic and we have such amazing views all around our house. The day we were able to go pick up the keys was so exciting.  Now I can start my favorite hobby, designing the interior.  I have so many ideas I can't wait!

Christmas 2013

Every year for Christmas we head up to my parent's house for Christmas Eve.  We spend the night and Christmas morning with them and then go to Dave's Mom's house for Christmas dinner.  This is us Christmas morning.  My parent's still like to wake us up early to open presents, and then we have a big breakfast.  This year for Christmas Dave and I bought a new fridge and washer and dryer for our new house.  We can't wait for it to finish being built.  We are so ready to move in.

I also of course got more snuggle time with this handsome devil.

Every Christmas Eve we make some kind of craft.  Last year we did reindeer's out of Twinkies, the year before was gingerbread houses, and this year was igloos with little penguins.  I think they turned out pretty dang cute.

Dance Recital

Every December we go to our niece's dance recital.  This year they did Snow White.  We love to go.  The girls are so cute.  We are so proud of them and love to see them dance.  It has been a really fun tradition for the last few years.  The girls love showing us the things they've learned in ballet.

Thanksgiving 2013

We had Thanksgiving dinner with my family this year.  It was so nice that we were all able to get together.  After having dinner we had family home evening together.  It has been years since we were able to do that all together as a family.  We also got a big announcement from my little brother, he and his wife are having a baby.  That is exciting news.  I think my parents are very excited to finally be grandparents.

I also got some snuggle time with my favorite kitty.  Joe is my parents cat but he totally loves me.  He gives the best hugs.

Thanksgiving day was also my sister-in laws birthday, so we celebrated both holidays.  Needless to say, there was plenty of food.

Golden Girl's Dinner

My work friends and I got together for dinner at the Macaroni Grill for LaDonna's birthday.  My friend Tori's husband dubbed our group the Golden Girls.  I'm not sure why but the name stuck.  Scott joined us this time.  He told us he would only come if we stopped calling it a girls night.  We always have a great time when we get together.  Lots of laughs.

We drew a picture of our waiter, Esteban.  He loved it!  We were able to convince him to sing opera to us.  It was fantastic.  He handed us his phone and asked us to take a picture of our drawing.  I think we made his night ha ha.

Dinner with Fam and Eric's Birthday

The weekend of my brother Eric's birthday we headed up to spend time with family.  We stopped in Layton on Saturday and went to dinner with Dave's Mom, twin brother, and sister and her family.  It was so fun to get together with family.  Our nieces are so cute.

Sunday we went over to my parent's house to celebrate Eric's birthday.  He loves anything to do with guns so we got him an alarm clock that has a target that pops up when the alarm goes off and you have to shoot it with a fake gun that came with it in order to turn off the alarm.  He loved it.

Tarzan at Hale Centre Theatre

Dave and I went to go see Tarzan at the Hale Centre Theatre.  It was fantastic.  I was so curious to see how they would do the show, especially with the characters swinging in vines.  They did an amazing job, the actors were literally swinging over our heads.  It would take so much strength to be able to do that.  We love going to the HCT, their shows are always incredible.  We usually go to two or three shows a year.

The set for Tarzan was awesome.  It is always a good experience when we come.

Desert Star Playhouse

Dave and I went to see a show at the Desert Star Playhouse.  We saw "The Lone Stranger".  Their plays are so much fun, they always do parody's which are so entertaining.  We love coming here, it is one of our favorite spots.

Dave was really enjoying the popcorn.  He is so silly, I love that he can always make me laugh.  We really enjoyed the show.  There were a few moments when they went off script and were improving.  I was so funny to see the actors trying not to break character.

Spanish Fork Rodeo

Dave's Mom has a friend that helps out with the Spanish Fork Rodeo every year.  She was able to get us some great tickets to go.  It was so much fun!  I like watching the barrel racing, it is amazing how quickly they can get their horses to run.  Dave likes watching the bull riding, of course.  Very manly, haha

As you can see the sunset was absolutely gorgeous!  I swear this picture almost looks fake or photo-shopped.   We can't wait to officially live in such a beautiful city.

Dave's Graduation

We were so excited for Dave to finally graduate!  He is finally officially a Doctor.  It took a lot of years and hard work but it was so worth it.  My parents came down to come to the graduation ceremony.  Dave's commencement was at eight o'clock in the morning so they had to get up at four so we really appreciate them coming down.  It is so great to have such supportive family.

Dave's Mom and twin brother also attended his commencement ceremony.  It was so great to have them there.  As you can see the twins are always teasing each other.  They keep things entertaining.

Dr. Jensen and Dr. Jensen, so happy for these two!  Both of them now have their Ph.D's.

Me and my man.  I always knew I wanted to marry a doctor ;)
